Ochsner Health seeks a Nurse Assistant to support patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse in a hospital setting in New Orleans. This role requires providing basic patient care, monitoring and communicating effectively with the care team to ensure safety and quality.

Preferred candidates hold CNA certification with BLS and CPI certifications to be obtained within 30 days of hire; a high school diploma is preferred, and flexibility to work a 24/7 schedule is required.

Qualificações

• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability).
• Preferred High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsabilidades

• Supports the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment in the patient care area.
• Provides care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned areas.
• Communicates patient care needs effectively with patients, families, and other staff members, including multi-disciplinary teams.
• Completes documentation of patient related tasks.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
