Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Physician Group to deliver evidence-based nursing care to acutely ill patients. The role involves clinical coordination, phone triage, test-result communication, and adherence to professional standards.

HOURS: 8:00am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5:00pm. Must be licensed RN, CPR/BLS certified; BSN preferred. Healthcare team collaboration and patient-family education are essential components of this role.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state of employment.
• CPR–BLS certification.
• Experience in acute care nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs all aspects of patient care using evidence-based practice to optimize safety.
• Follows the six medication rights and administers meds based on patient age and condition.
• States rationale for clinical decisions based on critical thinking.
• Assesses and analyzes data to address physical, psychosocial, rehab, safety, learning needs.
• Identifies patient care needs and integrates into the plan of care.
• Educates patient and family and involves them in the care plan.
