AdventHealth, located in Rome, Georgia, is seeking a Surgical Technologist for full-time, day shift. The role involves preparing and assisting in the operating room, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting surgeons throughout procedures.

Required include HS Grad, Surgical Technology program completion, BLS, and CST certification preferred. Excellent teamwork and patient safety focus are essential for this role at this facility.

Qualifications

• Provide care addressing the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety age appropriate needs of the patient populations served within the department.
• Interpersonal skills required.
• Completion of validation skills.
• Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up.
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques.

Responsabilités

• Check supplies and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Set up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures.
• Perform counts with circulator prior to operation and before incision closure.
• Gown and glove surgeon and assistants.
• Help in draping sterile field.
• Pass instruments to surgeon during procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique during procedures.
• Prepare sterile dressings and clean instruments for sterilization.
• Assist other team members with terminal cleaning and prep for next patient.
• Handle surgical specimens with accuracy.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies.

Job Description:

• Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures. Scrubs, gowns, and gloves for surgical procedures.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures, displaying knowledge of procedure and patient positioning.
• Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed.
• Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants.
• Helps in draping sterile field.
• Passes instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedures.
• Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures.
• Prepares sterile dressings and cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room and prepping for the next patient.
• Handles surgical specimens with 100% accuracy.
• Recognizes and responds immediately to emergency situations appropriately.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care which addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety age appropriate needs of the patient populations served within the department. [Required]

• State Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Preferred] OR NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Preferred] OR Technician in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) [Preferred]
