Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Surgical Services Support Tech for PRN shifts at Olathe Hospital. Key duties include maintaining stock levels, coordinating with anesthesia, and performing decontamination and case prep tasks per established guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• BLS (or BCLS) certification within 60 days of hire.
• Respirator Fit Test required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient transfers and communicates with patients using high service standards.
• Communicates with health care team regarding room needs and follow-up by intraoperative team.
• Maintains stocking of emergency stock and specialty supplies to ensure accessibility for patient care.
• Keeps inventory organized and accessible for the health care team.
• Participates in projects and other duties as assigned by Surgical Support Services leadership.
• Coordinates with anesthesia to ensure practitioners have needed supplies for patient care.
• Performs room and department decontamination per CDC, AORN, ASA, KUHA and manufacturer guidelines.
• Pulls supplies and instruments to prepare for cases with quality control checks.
• Provides resources to staff during surgical cases to minimize interruptions.
• Follows processes for acquiring, storing and handling surgical equipment per division guidelines.
