Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System's South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville Heights, OH is seeking a Surgical Services Support Technician I. You will help create a safe and sterile environment for surgical operations, transport patients, and assist in prepping for procedures.

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED, BLS certification, and at least one year of customer service and teamwork experience. Day shift from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM with opportunities to learn advanced clinical skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within new hire period.
• One year of customer service experience AND experience working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients to designated areas per nursing requests.
• Assist nursing caregivers during surgical cases as requested.
• Maintain and control support services equipment and supplies.
• Maintain the OR in an aesthetically safe and sanitary condition.
• Escort and direct customers to the appropriate source for assistance.
• Provide a safe environment for patients and their families.
• Enter job tasks into electronic computer software systems.
• Assist in prepping and shaving patients for surgery.
• Coordinate and maintain uniform room activities, such as locker assignments and scrubs.
• Properly handle and dispose of hazardous waste.
• Comply with special cleaning requests for radioactive waste and infection control surgical cases.
