Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nurse Manager in the Aurora area to oversee OR resources, scheduling, and operations for surgical services. You will coordinate staff, equipment, and rooms to ensure efficient case flow and patient safety.

The role includes working with physicians and nursing staff, developing budgets, guiding performance reviews, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. A BSN and OR experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
• Typically 3 years of experience in nursing within an operating region or surgical services.
• Advanced clinical and technical knowledge of the surgery, endoscopy, and pre/post-operative areas.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitors operating room resources and coordinates schedule changes with patient care units.
• Expedites surgery schedule for elective and non-elective procedures.
• Manages staff scheduling and maintains productivity levels.
• Assists in annual site budgets and interprets data for budgeting.
• Acts as a liaison between physicians, medical staff, and nursing staff to solve problems.
• Ensures compliance with policies and delivers direct patient care per standards.
• Participates in HR activities including performance reviews and staffing decisions.
