Job summary

WellSpan Health in Chambersburg, PA is seeking a Registered Nurse Trainee for Surgical Services. The RN supports operating room teams and completes the WISE perioperative learning program with orientation designed to build confidence and competence.

The role covers 11 OR suites, day/evening shifts, and occasional weekends with on-call duties as needed. Candidates should have OR experience or be completing an OR RN Trainee Program and hold an active RN license in PA.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with operating room experience or completion of Operating Room RN Trainee Program.
• Relias program training for perioperative staff.
• Licensed RN in Pennsylvania or eligible to practice in the state.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates safe medication practice.
• Maintains professional image and confidence in health care role.
• Transcribes physician orders accurately.
• Demonstrates therapeutic communication with patients and families.
• Participates in unit meetings and staff development sessions.
• Acts as a resource for patient care and orientation of staff.
• Performs nursing activities within the perioperative environment and supports discharge planning.
