Merit Health River Region in Mississippi is actively seeking a full-time Nursing Manager of Surgical Services to lead the pre-, intra-, and post-operative care, coordinating clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure high-quality, patient-centered outcomes.

The role emphasizes staff supervision, adherence to standards, and collaboration with physicians and leadership to drive efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement across the surgical continuum.

Qualifications

• RN license required or eligible for licensure in state of Mississippi.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 4+ years of direct leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
• 2–4 years of leadership experience in related field with Bachelor's degree.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to manage multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of surgical services across pre-, intra-, and postoperative phases.
• Supervise staff, evaluate performance, ensure adherence to clinical standards and regulatory requirements.
• Apply evidence-based practices to improve outcomes, safety, and workflow efficiency.
• Analyze data on patient satisfaction, quality metrics, staffing, and operations to drive improvements.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for surgical services.
