Merit Health River Region Medical Center is seeking a full-time Nursing Manager of Surgical Services to lead daily operations across pre-, intra-, and post-operative areas. You will guide clinical and non-clinical staff, drive quality initiatives, and align surgical services with hospital goals.

The role emphasizes staff engagement, regulatory compliance, data-driven improvement, and collaboration with physicians and leadership to ensure exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field required.
• Four (4) plus years of direct experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in closely related field with Bachelor's degree required.
• 2-4 years of previous leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the delivery of patient care throughout the surgical continuum (pre-, intra-, post-operative).
• Supervises and evaluates staff performance in surgical services.
• Applies evidence-based practices to enhance outcomes, safety, and efficiency.
• Analyzes data on patient satisfaction, quality metrics, staffing, and operations.
• Develops and implements policies and procedures for surgical services.
• Collaborates with physicians and leaders to ensure effective communication and continuity of care.
• Engages staff in identifying improvements and risk mitigation strategies.
• Participates in strategic planning, program development, and capital/resource planning.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains reliable attendance.
