Job summary

HCA Florida Ocala Hospital is seeking a Nurse Educator for Surgical Services to shape patient care through evidence-based education and collaboration with managers and councils. You will help develop onboarding, orientation, and competency programs for nursing and other clinical staff.

You will promote lifelong learning, support staff across licensed and non-licensed personnel, and participate in EBP, research, and quality initiatives. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
• Master’s degree in nursing preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in clinical education or leadership preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in acute care hospital preferred.
• RN license in the practicing state or active compact license required.
• Nationally recognized specialty certification preferred.
• BLS required.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Develop onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and healthcare personnel.
• Provide orientation to promote employee retention.
• Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust programs.
• Develop and evaluate competency for staff across licensed and non-licensed personnel.
• Design educational activities to address practice gaps and learner engagement.
• Promote evidence-based practice and participate in research, EBP, and QI.
