Job summary

HCA Florida Ocala Hospital is seeking an RN for the Outpatient Surgery team in Ocala, FL. You will evaluate patients pre- and post-operatively, educate patients and families, and participate in surgical safety protocols as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, managing IV therapy and perioperative meds, and ensuring accurate documentation while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• BCLS (AHA) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Florida RN license required; compact license holders have 60 days to obtain Florida license after relocation
• Associate Degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient and family education surrounding perioperative process
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative medications
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols
• Respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care within evidence-based practices
• Collaborate with a dynamic interdisciplinary team
• Document patient condition and care provided accurately
• Educate patients and families about medical condition and follow-up measures
