Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is hiring a Surgical Services Manager to lead nursing teams in perioperative care. The role focuses on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care across pre-admission, operative, and post-operative stages.

The manager collaborates with physicians and hospital departments to ensure quality service 24/7, manages resources efficiently, and supports regulatory standards while advancing patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree required and RN license active.
• BSN preferred.
• ACLS/BCLS required; PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing leadership for assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care in assigned areas.
• Assist the Director of Perioperative Services in planning, directing and managing pre-admission testing, pre-operative, operative and post-operative staff for 24-hour coverage.
• Collaborate with physicians and other departments to meet patient and family needs.
• Manage resources in a fiscally responsible manner.
• Support the hospital mission in regulatory compliance.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Under the general direction of the Director of Perioperative Services provides nursing leadership for assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care of assigned area(s).

The manager assists the Director of Perioperative Services in planning, directing and managing the pre-admission testing, pre-operative, operative and post-operative staff to assure quality service to the hospital on a 24-hour basis.

Collaborates with physicians and other departments to meet patient and family needs.

Manages resources in a fiscally responsible manner.

Supports the hospital mission in accordance with regulatory standards.

What qualifications you will need:

Education: Graduation from school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Licensure/Certifications: Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation. Certification in area of specialty preferred (CPAN). Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, computer, organizational and leadership skills required. Ability to achieve and then maintain BCLS and ACLS required. PALS certification is preferred.

Experience: Two years’ clinical nursing experience in a procedural preoperative and/or recovery room required. One year supervisory or charge nurse experience required.
