Description: Surgical Services Manager About the Role: The Surgical Services Manager at Morgan Medical Center plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of the surgical department to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. This position is responsible for managing surgical staff, coordinating schedules, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards. The manager will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing staff, and administrative teams to optimize workflow and resource utilization. They will also lead initiatives to improve surgical services, enhance patient outcomes, and support continuous professional development within the team. Ultimately, this role ensures that the surgical services department operates efficiently, safely, and in alignment with the medical center’s strategic goals. MMC Surgical Services is growing with the facility and is welcoming new physicians and specialties.

Responsibilities: Manage and supervise all surgical services personnel, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations. Coordinate surgical schedules and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and minimize patient wait times. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and hospital policies related to surgical services. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives and patient safety protocols. Oversee budgeting, procurement of surgical supplies and equipment, and maintenance of surgical facilities. Monitor and analyze surgical service metrics to identify areas for operational improvement and report findings to senior leadership. Facilitate communication between surgical teams, patients, and other hospital departments to ensure seamless care delivery. Lead staff meetings and professional development programs to foster a culture of excellence and continuous learning.

Skills: Strong communication skills are essential for liaising between surgeons, nursing staff, patients, and hospital administration to ensure clarity and collaboration. Analytical skills are applied to monitor performance metrics and identify opportunities for operational enhancements and patient safety improvements. Proficiency with healthcare technology enables efficient management of electronic medical records and resource allocation.
