Job summary

Allina Health is seeking a Perioperative Assistant at United Hospital in Saint Paul, MN. The role supports surgical services with turnover, supply management and safe patient transport, working in an 8-hour day/evening shift with occasional weekends.

Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical Training in Surgical Technology, Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant, or surgical setting work experience.
• 0 to 2 years in surgical setting
• 1 year in a surgical setting (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Takes direction from RN or supervisor for direct and indirect patient care; cleaning/stocking, room turnover, patient transport.
• Obtains and delivers items including equipment, instruments, specimens and lab requests.
• Completes preoperative skin preparation and assists in team communication; mentors staff and reports safety issues.
