Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH, is seeking a full-time Surgical Services assistant. The role supports physical preparation for procedures, patient positioning, and room cleaning using sterile techniques. Schedule is 36 hours weekly across three days, with shift times from 6:45am to 7:15pm.

Ideal candidates hold a High School Diploma, BLS, and 1–2 years in medical office/hospital settings. Strong communication and the ability to work under pressure are essential in this onsite role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 2 weeks of hire.
• 1–2 years Medical Office/Hospital/Managed Care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistant level care to Surgical Services patients within unit limits.
• Transports patients to/from room and assists with positioning before surgery.
• Prepares the environment and cleans the room using sterile technique.
• Maintains appropriate levels of surgical gowns, masks, and cleaning supplies.
• Communicates effectively for problem solving.
