Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist (scrub tech) to support the surgical suite and patient care in Fayetteville, NC. The ST works under RN direction, performing duties within scope and organization guidelines.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, OR experience, and CAHEA-program training preferred. The role emphasizes aseptic technique, confidentiality, and teamwork in the Labor and Delivery department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have OR experience as a Tech.
• Completion of CAHEA-accredited Surgical Technologist program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow aseptic techniques for scrub duties and support.
• Perform scrub duties in service areas as assigned.
• Assist in carrying out the patient’s plan of care within scope.
• Access medication/supply room for patient care items.
• Transport and escort patients as needed.
• Assist with instruments, equipment, and supplies prep.
• Foster guest relations with patients and families.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Support care respecting cultural and spiritual needs.
• Adjust care for age-specific needs.
• Participate in educational and performance-improvement activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
