St. Luke's Cataract & Laser Institute is seeking a PRN Surgical Scrub/SPD Tech to support ophthalmic surgeries at our Wesley Chapel location.

Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of surgical scrub experience, strong teamwork, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a surgical scrub technician in an operating room preferred.
• Experience with cleaning and sterilizing instruments.
• Must be mobile in a surgical procedure (walking, sitting, standing, bending, stretching).

Responsibilities

• Provide instrument sets and supplies during ophthalmic surgery.
• Assist surgeon, nurses, and staff during procedures.
• Clean and sterilize instruments per standards.
• Support sterile processing and instrument turnover.

About the PositionSt. Luke’s Surgical Center performs multi-subspecialty ophthalmic surgery. Reporting to the OR Supervisor, the surgical scrub technician’s role and responsibility is to provide necessary and appropriate equipment, instruments and supplies during ophthalmic surgery with the surgeon, nurses and staff. As an instrument technician, the role is to clean and sterilize instruments in accordance with AAMI standards.

Requirements

Job Skill & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalency is required
