Qualifications

  • Experience with cleaning and sterilizing instruments.
  • Must be mobile in a surgical procedure (walking, sitting, standing, bending, stretching).

Responsibilities

  • Provide instrument sets and supplies during ophthalmic surgery.
  • Assist surgeon, nurses, and staff during procedures.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments per standards.
  • Support sterile processing and instrument turnover.

St. Luke's Cataract & Laser Institute is seeking a PRN Surgical Scrub/SPD Tech to work out of our Wesley Chapel location.

About the PositionSt. Luke’s Surgical Center performs multi-subspecialty ophthalmic surgery. Reporting to the OR Supervisor, the surgical scrub technician’s role and responsibility is to provide necessary and appropriate equipment, instruments and supplies during ophthalmic surgery with the surgeon, nurses and staff. As an instrument technician, the role is to clean and sterilize instruments in accordance with AAMI standards.

Requirements
Job Skill & Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalency is required
