Job summary

St. Luke’s Cataract & Laser Institute is seeking an Entry Level Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at The Villages location. You will prepare patients for physician visits, perform diagnostic tests, and document patient history while supporting a calm, clean environment.

This full-time role offers on-the-job training with growth opportunities to become certified ophthalmic staff as you advance within our renowned eye-care team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Reads and communicates effectively in English.
  • Good understanding of customer service standards.
  • Basic computer knowledge and the ability to learn new computer skills.
  • Ability and flexibility to travel between locations.

About the Position

Ophthalmic Technicians prepare patients for appointments with the physician, interview patients and document their history, perform diagnostic tests, and scribe for the physician while maintaining a clean and friendly environment.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a candidatetoEarn as you learn with On-The-Job Training.We offer a 6-8 week paid training program that specializes inophthalmic medicine.During training, you will be able to get a more hands on experience using state-of-the-art technology to provide the highest quality care to our patients. As a technician with St. Luke’s, you will be part of our world-renowned medical team. You will have the opportunity for paid advancements to become a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, Certified Ophthalmic Technician, and Certified Ophthalmic Master Technician.
