Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of OR Technician education preferred.
• 1 year OR Tech experience or completion tech training program required.
• BLS certification required upon hire for uncertified track; CST/TS-C/NCCT for certified track may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and address technical needs to meet patient conditions.
• Assist health care team during surgical procedures with anatomy and physiology understanding.
• Provide safe intra-operative patient care including specimen handling and medication labeling.
• Prepare instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment for specific procedures and anticipate surgeon and patient needs.
• Maintain, monitor and restock equipment and supplies as assigned.
• Open surgical equipment appropriately and anticipate physician needs during each case.
• Accurately communicate provider preferences to RN and facilitate efficient room turnovers.
• Assist with updating physician preference cards and participate in training on aseptic techniques.
• Adhere to regulatory and organizational standards; comply with regulations and policies; ensure certifications/licenses are up-to-date.
• Document assessments, interventions, EMR entries, and patient responses; report safety incidents as required.
