Job summary

CHOC in Orange, California is seeking a Surgical Scrub Technician II to support the operating room team under RN, surgeon and anesthesia staff. You will handle instruments, supplies and equipment during procedures, anticipate needs, and help ensure safe, quality patient care throughout operations.

Minimum two years of OR experience is required; a Surgical Technology diploma or military training is expected, with BLS certification.

  • Graduate of Surgical Technology program or military training.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Certified Surgical Tech (preferred).
  • Minimum two years of operating room experience.

Responsibilities

  • Handle the surgical instruments, supplies and equipment during procedures.
  • Assist surgical team and set up/clean between cases.
  • Maintain sterile environment and ensure patient safety.
  • Support teaching and supervision of students or junior techs when needed.

Handles the surgical instruments, supplies, and necessary equipment during surgical procedures. Possesses the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon and has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure safe, quality patient care during the operative procedure. May precept new technicians and students to the department.Pay RangeMinimum $30.94 Midpoint $40.99 Maximum $51.05Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.ExperienceRequired: Minimum two years of operating room experience.Preferred: Expertise in one (1) specialty.EducationRequired: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent. Graduate of Surgical Technology program or military training.Preferred: College coursework with Associate or Bachelor's degree.Specialized SkillsRequired: Able to relate and communicate in English professionally with others; respect policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; accept direction.
