Job summary

Monterey Peninsula Surgery Center LLC is seeking a Surgical Scrub Technician to join our outpatient team in Monterey, CA. The role emphasizes maintaining sterile OR conditions, supporting surgeons with instruments, and ensuring instrument counts are accurate for every procedure.

Ideal candidates have CST certification (or equivalent) and at least 2 years of outpatient surgical experience, with strong teamwork, communication, and composure under pressure in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Scrub Tech in outpatient or surgical settings.
• In-depth knowledge of surgical instruments, sterile techniques, and operating room procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree or surgical technology program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile environments for surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons and surgical staff by providing instruments, supplies, and equipment during operations.
• Perform thorough instrument counts before, during, and after procedures to ensure accuracy and patient safety.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond quickly to requests during procedures.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization in the operating room and surrounding areas.
• Assist with patient positioning and draping as needed.
• Document and report any issues or concerns related to surgical instruments or equipment.
• Adhere to all infection control policies and procedures.
