Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc. in Orlando, FL seeks a Surgical Technologist to support operating room teams under surgeon or RN supervision. No weekends, nights, holidays, or on-call duties.

You will prepare and maintain equipment, assist with patient prep, pass instruments, and help transfer patients to recovery, under strict sterile techniques. Must graduate from an accredited program and be CPR certified; experience with total shoulder replacements preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Must be CPR certified with 0-2 years of clinical experience in a related field.
• Must have experience with total shoulder replacements.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures.
• Sets up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions before operations.
• Tends to patient during pre-operation procedures under supervision.
• Performs pre-operation preparations to the patient and equipment.
• Assembles and checks sterile and non-sterile equipment.
• Get patients ready for surgery and assist with positioning and draping.
• Observe vitals, assist with gowns and gloves, and pass instruments.
• Handle specimens and assist with counting supplies.
• Operate sterilizers, lights, suction and diagnostic equipment.
• After operations, transfer patients to recovery and restock the OR.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
