Qualifications

• 2 years of surgical scheduling experience.
• Certificate in Medical Terminology preferred
• Certificate in ICD-9 and CPT Coding preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all OR surgeries and procedures.
• Verify patient demographics and obtain pre-certification from insurance carriers for all surgeries and procedures.
• Record hospital reservation and pre-admit data in the institutional system.
• Arrange patient pre-testing and obtain medical clearance.
• Place surgical confirmation calls prior to scheduled date.
• Act as liaison between referring physicians and surgeons for data communication.
• Distribute necessary paperwork to internal and external parties to coordinate surgeries.
• Schedule post-operative follow-up visits with providers.
• Perform other related duties.
