Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum of 1 year of scheduling experience in a health care environment (e.g., physician office, clinic or hospital).
• Proficiency with EPIC and strong computer skills including Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Charts, records, files, and updates with correct demographics, codes, procedures and insurance information; prepares new records, organizes files and maintains records.
• Works with providers and patients to obtain medical clearances for patients to have surgery
• Schedules complex surgeries and procedures
• Answers the phones in a professional and courteous manner
• Professionally interacts with patients and their family members regarding scheduling surgery
• Completes data entry in a timely and accurate manner
• Completes daily surgical schedule and distributes as appropriate
• Sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail
