Job summary

Elliot Health System is seeking a dedicated Scheduling Coordinator to manage surgical procedures and direct admissions. You will coordinate communications between patients, families, surgeons, and staff to ensure smooth scheduling and preparedness for procedures.

Day-to-day responsibilities include booking, preop coordination, and liaison with multiple departments to prevent delays and ensure accurate CPT/ICD coding and documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Previous surgical scheduling experience with knowledge of medical terminology and coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and authorizes surgical procedures in EOD and Main OR for surgical specialty group during scheduled block time and out of block scheduling for both surgeon and PA/FA.
• Receives verbal orders and or initiates booking sheet.
• Meets with patient same day to schedule surgical procedures or calls patients with surgery information and determines which surgery date would be best.
