Job summary

Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Scheduler for the Surgical Services team. This part-time role (0.50 FTE) observes an evening shift from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with a $2.00/hour evening shift differential, and requires coordinating patient visits, tests, and procedures.

You will schedule new, follow-up, cancellations, and rescheduling requests, and help with pre-operative and diagnostic activities while ensuring accurate billing and insurance information.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year experience.
• Scheduling and/or billing systems knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance carriers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient visits, including new, follow-up, cancellations and rescheduling.
• Coordinate pre-operative and diagnostic tests and procedures.
• Assist with operative and invasive procedures as assigned.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for the scheduling of patient visits (including new, follow-up, cancellations, and rescheduling requests), pre-operative and/or diagnostic tests, and procedures (including operative and invasive procedures for assigned area of responsibility.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum one (1) year experience required.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS :

• Knowledge of scheduling and/or billing systems preferred.

• Knowledge of insurance carriers preferred.
