Responsibilities

• Collects patient clinical and demographic data and insurance information, verifies payer coverage and obtains physician orders.
• Arranges for support services and ensures written orders for homecare or RN verbal orders when needed.
• Oversees secretarial staff to assure accurate data entry, phone handling, and management of clinical records.
• Coordinates referrals and ensures appropriate staff coverage for efficient operations.
• Enters referrals, verifies information prior to admission and maintains reference files.

Job Description:

• Collects patient clinical and demographic data and insurance or payer information, verifies payer coverage, and obtains physician orders.
• Arranges for support services and ensures written orders for homecare are obtained or requests an RN to take verbal orders when needed.
• Oversees secretarial staff to assure accurate data entry, appropriate phone answering, management of clinical records, and provision of clinical records when requested.
• Ensures appropriate staff coverage within the agency and coordinates referrals to maintain efficient operations.
• Enters referrals into the computer, verifies required information prior to admission, and maintains accurate reference files.
