Job summary

Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville Heights, OH, invites a New Grad RN Resident to join our Surgery team. This Magnet-designated facility delivers state-of-the-art care and a supportive environment for career growth.

The RN Resident will assist surgeons, set up instrumentation, and participate in a structured one-year residency across nine tracks. The role requires an RN license, BLS, and recent nursing education.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• New graduate or less than one year RN direct care experience or transitioning from non-inpatient to acute inpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Participate in residency core curriculum for surgery.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish or revise priorities for patient care (acuity, preferences, resources).
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and take corrective action.
• Seek supervision or assistance when unable to perform safely.
• Document in patients' medical records.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (preferred)
