Job summary

Great River Health in West Burlington, IA, seeks an experienced perioperative nurse to provide patient care and collaborate with physicians, families, and care teams. The role emphasizes efficient resource use, coordinating the surgical schedule, and maintaining high standards of perioperative care.

You will lead staff development, assist with improvement projects, and serve as a resource to nursing leadership.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) required
• Prefer Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or other related field
• Healthcare experience within the last five years preferred
• OR experience preferred
• Electronic documentation/keyboard experience preferred
• IV Conscious Sedation experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care on a regular basis with strong communication with patients, families, physicians and care teams
• Assist with perioperative operations including scheduling, staffing and staff development
• Support quality monitoring and improvement action plans within the department
• Ensure adherence to standards of perioperative care using best practices
• Co-chair department staff meetings and participate in agenda preparations
