Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an experienced RN Mentor at Baptist Medical Center South to lead a formal mentorship program for nursing staff. The mentor will model professional practice, educate, and collaborate with unit educators and nursing leadership to assess needs and orient new staff.

The role involves delivering education lectures, providing rounds, and guiding less experienced nurses toward competence, while also contributing to patient care as needed.

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure required.
• BSN preferred; MSN highly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of medical-surgical, intensive care, or specialty nursing clinical and/or teaching experience in acute care.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a mentorship model for nursing staff.
• Serve as a role model, leader, consultant, educator, and clinician.
• Collaborate with unit Educators, Preceptors, and Nursing Leadership to assess the needs of clinical nurses.
• Participate in delivery of new clinical staff orientation.
• Prepare and deliver nursing-related education lectures and case studies.
