LCMC Health in New Orleans, LA seeks a skilled Surgical Nurse to join its operating room team. You will prepare patients for surgery, review histories, administer meds, position patients, monitor vitals, and document care with a focus on safety and outcomes.

Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists, ensure infection control, respond to emergencies, and educate patients and families about perioperative care. Prior OR experience is preferred; active Louisiana RN license required.

Qualificações

• Current Louisiana RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Operating room experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare patient for surgery, review history, and provide care including supplies, medications, positioning, vitals monitoring and health assessments.
• Perform required clinical documentation and post-operative assessments.
• Monitor patient after surgery for pain, complications, or infection and ensure infection control.
• Perform CPR or other emergency measures when required.
• Collaborate to identify and meet overall patient care needs and ensure timely task completion.
• Maintain a safe environment and advocate continuity of care and effective communication.
• Initiate patient and family education on perioperative and post-operative care.
