Job summary

Cataract & Laser Institute in Greenwood, IN is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our surgical team. The RN will care for patients before, during and after procedures, record symptoms, administer medications, and educate patients and families.

This full-time, part-time, and PRN role offers a 6.5 paid holidays per year, PTO after 60 days, and a full slate of benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401k; growth via company-paid certification program. No nights, weekends, or holidays.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment
• Current certification in Basic Life Support
• Minimum of one (1) year of related work experience in a surgical/operating room environment is preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to individuals in the pre-surgical, operative and recovery periods; collaborates with medical staff and other departments daily to promote coordination of patient care.
• Assure quality of care by adhering to compliance standards; following ASC philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations.
• Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from health care support personnel.
• Protect patients and staff by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
• Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
