Job summary

IHA in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking an RNFA to collaborate with the surgeon and interdisciplinary health care team to ensure safe surgical procedures and optimal patient outcomes.

This full-time, day-shift position requires a BSN, RNFA program completion, active Michigan RN licensure, CNOR, BLS, and at least three years of perioperative nursing experience with proficiency in scrubbing and circulating.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
• Successful completion of an RNFA Program.
• Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Michigan.
• CNOR certification.
• BLS Certification American Heart Association.
• Minimum of three years of perioperative nursing experience.
• Proficiency in scrubbing and circulating.

Responsibilities

• Assists with positioning, prepping and draping the patient.
• Provide hemostasis under surgeon supervision, including clamping, coagulating, and ligating vessels.
• Performs wound closures as directed, including suturing drains, fascia, subcutaneous tissue, and skin.
• Handles tissue as directed by a surgeon.
• Applies surgical dressing, application of casts, splints, or immobilizing devices.
• Assists in surgical case preparation (equipment, supplies, and instruments).
• Participates in volume replacement or auto transfusion, when appropriate.
• Selects and applies appropriate wound dressing.
• Provides assistance in securing drainage systems to tissue.
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs to expedite the operative procedure.
