Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking an experienced RN for the operative setting to deliver professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures. This full-time role requires scrubbing and circulating duties, with a schedule of Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM and call responsibilities.

You will prep operating rooms and instruments, assist physicians with hemostasis, suturing, patient positioning, and overall perioperative care, ensuring patient safety and quality

Qualifications

• BLS and Advanced Life Support certifications required within specified timelines.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed by Alabama Board of Nursing.
• Graduate with a diploma in nursing and active licensure at hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting for surgical patients.
• Perform scrub and circulating duties, handling instruments and monitoring patient condition.
• Assist the operating physician with hemostasis, suturing and patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and equipment for procedures.
