Job summary

UAB Medicine, Birmingham, AL, is seeking a Full-time nurse to provide direct patient care in the Perioperative Care, OrthoSports Same Day Surgery unit. This position involves daytime, Monday–Friday shifts and on-site work at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham.

Responsibilities include coordinating care plans, implementing physician orders, and supporting discharge planning with the healthcare team. A Diploma in Nursing and Alabama RN licensure are required, with BLS certification obtained within 30

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
