Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with BSN or MSN.
• Minimum of 5 years of specialty-specific experience in an acute care setting.
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Reads, writes, speaks and comprehends English language.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex and comprehensive information thoroughly and succinctly.

Responsibilities

• Precepting and mentoring staff in nursing process to plan and manage patient care.
• Provide clinical teaching and supervision; assign patients appropriately.
• Facilitate and participate in staff development, orientation and training.
• Participate in performance evaluation and coaching.
• Contribute to development/revision of patient care standards and pathways.
• Apply evidence-based findings to advance nursing practice and outcomes.
• Develop patient and staff education materials and serve as education consultant.
• Identify concerns and collaborate with health care team to solve problems.
• Promote unit certifications and clinical education advancement.
• Monitor quality improvements and ensure staff competence.
