Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for General Surgery 3W.

The role involves night shifts from 7:00pm to 7:00am, full-time 36 hours per week, with responsibilities across the nursing process, coordination with departments, and protecting patient rights. Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, an active RN license in Missouri or a compact state, BLS certification, and a minimum of 2 years of direct patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience required.
• RN license in hiring state and/or compact licensure where nursing duties are performed.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
