Job summary

Pardee UNC Health Care in North Carolina is seeking a Clinical Nurse for the Operating Room to coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process. The role reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and works with an interdisciplinary team to optimize surgical outcomes.

Requirements include NC RN licensure (or compact state), BLS, and ideally 1 year of OR experience. This is a full-time, onsite day-shift position with standard 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina or one of compact states by the day of clinical care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Administers patient care under the direction of a physician.
• Develops a plan of care to protect patient safety and optimize care outcomes.
• Assesses and monitors patients per policy and procedure.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary care team in provision of surgical care.
• Documents care in EMR.
• Performs surgical instrument and supply counts and ensures proper patient identification and consent.
• Collects, labels, and coordinates delivery of specimens to laboratory.
• Communicates plan of care with patients/families and promotes continuity of care.
• Promotes a safe, clean hospital environment and infection control.
