Job summary

Pardee UNC Health Care in North Carolina seeks an experienced Clinical Nurse in the Operating Room to coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting.

The role requires RN licensure in NC or a compact state and BLS certification; ACLS may be required for some units. Weekend-day shifts, 36 hours per week, onsite at Pardee Hospital. Training opportunities will be provided.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina or a compact state by the day of clinical care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ACLS certification may be required for some units prior to performing clinical care.
• One year of experience working as an RN in an acute care / inpatient hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers patient care under the direction of a physician and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to pursue expected patient outcomes.
• Reports and records the plan for care, nursing care given, and the patient's response.
• Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with policies and procedures.
• Organizes and prioritizes care according to patient/family needs and consults with appropriate resources for complex care.
• Collaborates with peers in a clinical operations environment and fosters intra/interdepartmental communication.
• Synthesizes data to determine priorities for care and assesses discharge needs for patients and families.
• Communicates with patient/family to prepare or update the plan of care with cultural competency and active listening.
• Develops clinical and operational excellence through education and training.
• Promotes a safe, clean hospital environment and adheres to infection control principles.
• Ensures competency in required skills and completes competency assessments annually.
