Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Radiology Surgical Technologist 2 for Surgical Services to independently perform high-quality diagnostic imaging in the operating room. The role requires autonomous work, strong communication with the surgical team, and adherence to radiation safety standards.

Qualified candidates will hold a radiography degree (technical program or associate’s) and BLS; ARRT registration is required. Two years of surgical radiology experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of Surgical Radiology experience.
• Technical Program Radiology Technologist Or Associate’s Degree Radiography.
• BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross; ARRT registration.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs high-quality imaging in a surgical setting.
• Prepares exam rooms and equipment for procedures.
• Ensures proper image labeling and documentation.
• Participates in quality assurance and safety programs.
• Maintains equipment cleanliness and readiness.
• Mentors and trains Surgical Radiology Technologist 1 staff or students as needed.
• Recognizes when to escalate cases to maintain patient safety and workflow efficiency.
