Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston, TX, is seeking an Operating Room Attendant for a mid-shift, full-time role to prepare patients and the surgical environment for the medical and nursing team.

You will assist with patient preparation, transport, and inter-department workflow, ensuring timely delivery of supplies and adherence to safety and standards. Strong English communication and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and read and write English.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assists with physical preparation of patient and environment prior to surgery; transports and transfers patients.
• Functions as a porter between departments ensuring required medical supplies, information, specimens, and products are delivered in a timely fashion.
• Ensures safe care to patients adhering to policies, procedures, and standards of care, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, and accuracy of practice.
• Promotes professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education; supports department-based goals; serves as a resource to less experienced staff.
• Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Models service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
• Other duties as assigned.
