Job summary

Greene County General Hospital in Linton, IN seeks a Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) Nurse to coordinate comprehensive preoperative assessments and testing for surgical procedures. You will liaise with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative staff to ensure patient readiness and safety.

Responsibilities include conducting pre-admission assessments, coordinating testing and clearances, documenting in the EHR, and promoting efficient, high-quality care in a fast-paced surgical services setting.

Qualifications

• RN or LPN education as specified in job requirements.
• BLS Certification required.
• Minimum one year of nursing experience; perioperative or ambulatory care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre-admission assessments via phone or in person.
• Review medical history, medications, allergies, and risk factors for planned procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and other departments for patient readiness.
• Identify testing or clearances needed prior to surgery and verify documentation.
• Enter assessment data and communications into the EHR and ensure chart completeness.
• Promote patient safety and help reduce delays or cancellations.
