Job summary

University Surgical Center is seeking a Pre Admission Testing Registered Nurse (PAT RN) to organize and direct activities in line with nursing standards and federal, state, and local guidelines. The PAT RN will contact patients preoperatively to review medical history and provide preadmission teaching, caring for adults including the elderly.

Reporting to the Pre-op/PACU Supervisor, the role requires planning for preadmission, prioritizing tasks, and delivering care while documenting assessments

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS, ACLS, or PALS as required by the center.
• A minimum of 1 year experience working as a Pre Admissions Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Plans and prepares for the preadmission of the patient.
• Delivers direct and indirect patient care according to established standards and age/risk factors.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
• Maintains or acquires BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications and documents care.
• Communicates nursing interventions and patient responses to responsible practitioners.
