Job summary

University Surgical Center is seeking a Preadmission Testing Registered Nurse (PAT RN) to organize and direct activities per nursing standards and guidelines. This role involves preadmission calls to assess medical history and provide teaching, with care for adults including geriatrics.

Reporting to the Pre-op/PACU Supervisor, the PAT RN ensures timely patient preparation, prioritization, and documentation of nursing assessments to guide care. Must maintain BLS/ACLS/PALS as required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS, ACLS, or PALS as required by the center.
• A minimum of 1 year experience working as a Pre Admissions Nurse.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.

Responsibilities

• Plans and prepares for the preadmission of the patient.
• Meets all required deadlines. Demonstrates discretionary ability in establishing priority.
• Delivers indirect and direct patient care according to established standards.
• Uses nursing judgment in decision-making.
• Acts as a patient advocate in meeting needs.
