Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple, TX is seeking a licensed Physician Assistant to join our Surgical Specialty-Operative team. The PA will provide direct patient care, assist in surgeries, and collaborate with physicians across general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, and vascular services.

The role emphasizes perioperative management, order and interpret tests, develop treatment plans, counsel patients and families, and participate in inpatient, outpatient, and OR

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Less than 1 year of experience in the field preferred.
• BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
• NCCPA certification required for practice in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage patient health and medical histories.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory tests and diagnostics.
• Prescribe medications and treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Develop and implement comprehensive perioperative treatment plans.
• Counsel patients and families about medical processes and medications.
• Maintain accurate medical records and coordinate referrals as needed.
• Provide perioperative and operative patient care in inpatient, outpatient, or OR settings.
