Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas is seeking a Physician Assistant for the Surgical Specialty-Operative team to provide direct patient care, prescriptive authority, and collaborative care with supervising physicians.

The PA will work across adult and pediatric patients in specialties including General Surgery, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Otolaryngology, Vascular, or Transplant, performing invasive procedures within their scope and contributing to perioperative management.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PA program.
• 1 year of experience.
• Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer.
• Current NCCPA certification.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients through physical exams and histories.
• Prescribes or recommends medical therapies and treatments.
• Formulates and implements treatment plans with physicians.
• Counsels patients and families about medications, regimens, and health promotion.
• Maintains patient records and follows up post-operatively.
• Performs invasive procedures within the scope of practice.
• Participates in perioperative patient management across settings.
