Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center, Moses Campus, is seeking a Surgical Pathology Laboratory Technologist to perform routine and specialized procedures in the Surgical Pathology lab. You will process and examine surgical and biopsy specimens with timely accuracy, operating and maintaining lab equipment per QA/QC standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a physical science and NYS CLT license, with preferred ASCP HT/HTL. Hours are 7:00am–3:30pm with alternate weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a physical science is required.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License is required.
• Histology techniques and IHC staining experience preferred.
• Familiarity with CAP/CLIA and NYSDOH requirements is expected.

Responsibilities

• Run tissue processor to produce paraffin blocks.
• Embed pathology specimens to view all tissue layers.
• Cut tissue sections on rotary microtome and stain with hematoxylin and eosin.
• Perform immunohistochemistry and sign out slides with accurate reporting.
• Maintain QA/QC records and ensure regulatory compliance.
