Job summary

Sonora Quest Laboratories/Laboratory Sciences of Arizona is seeking an AP Surgical Pathology Assistant to coordinate the site surgical pathology team and support the Production Manager and Technical Specialists. You will ensure proper specimen handling, triage, and complete QC/QA documentation.

The role involves staff oversight, training, scheduling, and contributing to policy implementation, with a focus on teamwork and high-quality customer service across the system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of medical laboratory experience in specimen handling.
• Knowledge of pathology concepts and procedures.
• Demonstrated growth in responsibilities and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the AP Surgical Pathology Assistants and support the Production Manager and Technical Specialists.
• Oversee processing, QA/QC documentation, and ensure compliance with accrediting standards.
• Assist with supplies, inventory, and cost-improvement initiatives.
• Support new employee orientation, competency documentation, and scheduling.
• Act as liaison within the system and uphold teamwork and customer service.
• Assist with writing pathology procedures and maintaining slide/document storage.
