Job summary

Stony Brook University’s Renaissance School of Medicine, Department of Pathology, invites applications for a faculty position in Surgical Pathology and medical education, with rank commensurate with experience. Candidates must hold MD/DO, board eligibility, NY licensure, and demonstrate strong diagnostic and teaching skills.

Fellowship in Surgical Pathology or a subspecialty is preferred; scholarly contributions in clinical/translational research and medical education are desirable.

Qualifications

• MD, DO (or foreign equivalent). American Board of Pathology board eligible or certified in Anatomic Pathology. Eligibility for New York State licensure.
• Strong diagnostic skills and the potential to serve as an outstanding educator of medical students, Pathology residents, and clinical fellows.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Fellowship training in Surgical Pathology or a sub-specialty area, including, but not limited to, breast, gynecologic, head & neck, bone and soft tissue, GU or GI pathology.
• In lieu of fellowship training, demonstration of expertise in a surgical pathology sub-specialty will be considered.
• Demonstration of scholarly contributions in clinical/translational research and experience in medical education.

Responsibilities

• Serve with responsibilities and duties in Surgical Pathology and medical education.
• Academic rank at the Stony Brook University Renaissance School of Medicine will be commensurate with experience and academic record.
