Job summary

Stony Brook University’s Department of Pathology seeks a faculty member to contribute to Surgical Pathology and medical education. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and record, with tenure/non-tenure track options.

Job description

Stony Brook University’s Department of Pathology is seeking a faculty member to serve with responsibilities and duties in Surgical Pathology and medical education.

Academic rank at the Stony Brook University Renaissance School of Medicine will be commensurate with experience and academic record.

Faculty Appointment Eligibility

Tenure/Non-Tenure Track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. To qualify for tenure faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure).

Qualifications
Required:

MD, DO (or foreign equivalent). American Board of Pathology board eligible or certified in Anatomic Pathology. Eligibility for New York State licensure. Strong diagnostic skills and the potential to serve as an outstanding educator of medical students, Pathology residents, and clinical fellows. Completion of a fellowship in Medical Renal Pathology or a minimum of four years of focused experience practicing Medical Renal Pathology. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

Fellowship training in Genitourinary Pathology or in other sub-specialty area, including, but not limited to, gynecologic, breast, genitourinary, head & neck, or GI pathology. In lieu of fellowship training, extensive experience in a subspecialty area of surgical pathology. Demonstration of scholarly contributions in clinical/translational research and experience in medical education.

Compensation

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
